Hey, Honey!

Who knew the secret to clear skin is to stop using acne products? Sounds weird, but it totally worked for me. The trick I learned to gain nice skin was: stop putting chemicals on your face! I threw away all beauty products & face washes with chemicals in them, and purchased some all-natural make-up. I did some research and found some natural products to cleanse the skin with and the best one I found so far is honey!! I use it every day and my cheeks are silk.

Here's my new routine, which I love (I look forward to washing my face every morning and night!). First I splash a little warm water on my face to open the pores. I pour about a teaspoon of honey in my palm, along with about a teaspoon of baking soda. This is my "scrub". I gently rub it in for about a minute and then rinse with warm water. You would think the honey is super sticky, but it rinses right off! Then I follow with Burt's Bees Tomato Complexion Bar. Lastly, I splash with cool water to close my pores, then moisturize (also a Burt's Bees brand). At night I rub a few drops of olive oil on my crow's feet around my eyes (this is my "eye serum" Ha!). I've been doing this for about 6 weeks and I now have the best skin of my life!!!

Today's Motto: stop putting chemicals on your face & body. Your skin with thank you by rewarding you with a movie star complexion!

Put on Ya Headphones!

My taste in music is very diverse. I'm always on the hunt for great new indie bands, I have a deep love of electronica and hip-hop, and will spend entire afternoons listening to 70's classic rock. I tend to lean away from pop music, but I stumbled upon this song by Britt Nicole called "How We Roll". It's an instant anthem for a group of girlfriends cruising around on a Friday night. Holler!! I love it!

Just for kicks, here's another oldie but goodie by Chromeo!

Why I Love "Love"

What is the meaning of life? LOVE! What else is there, for real?

I dedicate this first post to one of my heroes, John Lennon. I admire him as an artist, but above all I admire his passion for love in this world. The song "Imagine" is the only one that I get choked up to every time I hear it. I think this is because it was playing during the credits of the movie "Imagine: John Lennon", which I sat and teared up for a few minutes after watching. I encourage everyone to be grateful for each day and ask themselves what is more important than LOVE?

It matters not
Who you love
Where you love
Why you love
When you love
Or how you love
It matters only that you love.
~John Lennon
